KPDCL Schedules Power Outages

(MENAFN- Kashmir Observer) Srinagar – The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced multiple scheduled power shutdowns across various parts of Srinagar and Pulwama districts this month to facilitate critical maintenance, augmentation, and stabilisation works under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS).

According to the Chief Engineer (Distribution), KPDCL, the outages are part of planned activities to upgrade infrastructure, replace conductors, carry out branch cutting, erect poles, and strengthen the network to ensure more reliable electricity supply in the coming months.

As per the schedule, the 33KV Khanda Tap line will remain shut from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on 14 and 19 August for conductor stringing. This will affect the 33/11KV Receiving Station at Khanda , disrupting supply to Chattergam, Magraypora, Suthsoo, Gowherpora , and adjoining areas.

Similarly, on 18 and 21 August , the 33KV Pampore–BK Pora line will be shut from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. for branch cutting, pole erection, and stabilisation works. This outage will impact the BK Pora, Khanda, and Summerbugh Receiving Stations , resulting in power cuts in BK Pora, Khanda, Checkpora, Chattergam, Kenihama, Summerbugh, Wagoora, Airbagh, Chackpora , and nearby localities.

On 23 August , the 33KV Pampore–Wagoora line will remain shut from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. , affecting the Pohroo and Kadlabal Receiving Stations . Consumers in Pahroo, Kadlabal, Gas Plant, FGCIL , and surrounding areas will face outages.

Meanwhile, on 17 August , augmentation and stabilisation works on the 33KV Pampore–SIDCO line will lead to shutdowns from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. , impacting the Pampore-I and Pampore-II Receiving Stations . Power supply will be affected in Frestibal, Khadarmoh, Kadlabal, ITBP, Zewan, JKEDI, Drangbal, Namblabal, Tulbagh , and adjoining areas.

The same day, from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. , the Pampore–SIDCO line shutdown will also disrupt electricity to Khrew Cement Plants and IE Khrew , affecting Wuyan and surrounding areas.

KPDCL has urged residents and businesses in the affected areas to make necessary arrangements to mitigate inconvenience during the planned outages.
