Protesters Across Europe Demand End to Gaza War
(MENAFN) Hundreds of thousands of protesters across European nations organized rallies and marches on Saturday to express solidarity with Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, calling for a halt to Israeli assaults on the territory.
In London, citizens flooded the streets to voice their opposition to the attacks and insist on an immediate ceasefire during the 30th National March for Palestine.
Large crowds advanced from central Russell Square toward the Prime Minister's Office under the rallying cry: "Stop Starving Gaza."
The Palestine Solidarity Campaign (PSC), one of the key organizers of the nationwide pro-Palestine demonstrations, stated on X ahead of the event that Israel is "starving Palestinians in Gaza to death."
The group emphasized, "Our government must take action to end Israel’s genocide."
Participants, waving Palestinian flags, chanted slogans including one condemning the British government "for being complicit" in the ongoing genocide.
Meanwhile, hundreds gathered in Stockholm to protest Israel’s intentions to occupy Gaza City.
The demonstrators convened at the Odenplan area, holding various placards condemning the Israeli military strikes and US backing of Israel.
Following the initial gathering, the protesters marched toward the Foreign Ministry.
Earlier on Friday, Israel’s Security Cabinet approved Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s controversial occupation plans, which have been met with widespread opposition.
