Chinese TIM Motors showcases its electric cars at Zambia's premier expo
(MENAFN) Chinese automotive distributor TIM Motors showcased its latest range of electric and fuel-efficient vehicles at Zambia's 97th Agriculture and Commercial Show, highlighting the expanding footprint of Chinese new energy vehicles in the country.
Held in the capital city Lusaka from July 30 to August 4, the event saw the introduction of two new passenger vehicle models—the MG ZS 11 and MG HS—which attracted strong interest from local attendees and industry professionals alike.
According to company representatives, the display marks a significant step in TIM Motors’ strategy to enter Zambia’s passenger car market. The company has been active in the country since 2009, primarily supplying trucks, but is now responding to evolving consumer preferences.
"This is just the beginning. We plan to introduce more models in the future," said Kante Song, the company’s sales manager, noting that construction is underway on a new showroom. The facility will offer not only spare parts but also full servicing for all vehicles sold.
Sales and marketing manager Clifford Simbao added that the new models come with advanced features such as speed limiters and are specifically designed to handle Zambia’s unique road and terrain conditions.
