Pakistan Reports Death of Seven Suspected Dacoits in Police Shootouts

(MENAFN) Authorities in Lahore, the capital of Pakistan’s Punjab province, reported the deaths of seven suspected dacoits across four separate police confrontations.

The Crime Control Department, a specialized unit of Punjab police focused on dismantling organized crime, confirmed on Monday that the suspects were linked to robbery, murder, and various other grave crimes.

The largest clash occurred in Chung, a southeastern district of Lahore, where police intercepted an ongoing robbery. During the ensuing firefight, three suspects were killed while three others managed to escape.

Additional encounters resulted in two suspects being killed in Kotwali and another in Shahdara. A further confrontation near Ring Road in Model Town ended with one suspect’s death.

Officials stated that the suspects were fatally struck by crossfire from their own gang members. Authorities are continuing search operations to capture those who fled the scenes.
