Gaza Genocide: Nearly 58,900 Palestinians Killed in Israeli Atrocities

(MENAFN) The Palestinian Health Ministry reported on Sunday that at least 58,895 Palestinians have lost their lives amid Israel’s brutal military campaign targeting the Gaza Strip since October 2023.

According to the ministry’s update, hospitals received 130 bodies in the past 24 hours, while 495 individuals sustained injuries, pushing the total number of wounded Palestinians to 140,980 during the ongoing Israeli offensive.

“Many victims are still trapped under the rubble and on the roads as rescuers are unable to reach them,” the statement emphasized.

The ministry also highlighted that 31 Palestinians were killed and more than 107 injured while attempting to access humanitarian aid over the last day. This brings the cumulative death toll of Palestinians killed while seeking aid to 922, with over 5,861 others injured since May 27.

Israeli forces renewed their attacks on Gaza starting March 18, resulting in 8,066 fatalities and 28,939 injuries. This escalation ended a ceasefire and prisoner exchange deal established in January.

In November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, charging them with war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.

Furthermore, Israel is currently facing a genocide lawsuit at the International Court of Justice related to its military operations in the Gaza Strip.
