23,800 Residents Remain In Active Combat Zone In Donetsk Region

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) This information was provided during an online briefing by Dmytro Petlin, Head of the Department of Civil Protection, Mobilization, and Defense of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, according to a Ukrinform correspondent.

“In the territories classified as active combat zones, which include 18 territorial communities, 23,800 people remain, 115 of whom are children,” Petlin stated.

The Regional Military Administration notes that these communities include: Shakhove, Marinka, Toretsk, Pokrovsk, Myrnohrad, Chasiv Yar, Bakhmut, Soledar, Zvanivka, Siversk, Illinivka, Kostiantynivka, Udachne, Lyman, Hrodivka, Kurakhove, Ocheretyne, and Novoselivka.

Children remain in the Lyman territorial community (110 children) and Toretsk (five children).

Petlin also reported that over the past week, about 1,100 people were evacuated from their permanent places of residence in the Donetsk Region, but only 350 people left the region, meaning that the rest were displaced within the region.

In total, more than 1,233,000 civilians have been evacuated from the territory of the Donetsk Region controlled by the Ukrainian authorities, of whom about 193,000 are children and more than 46,700 are people with disabilities.

At present, about 268,000 people remain within the entire region controlled by the Ukrainian authorities, Petlin added.

It was reported that the mandatory evacuation of the civilian population in the Donetsk Region has been ongoing since August 2, 2022.
