Kuwait, Syria Eye Greater Security Coop. Amid Talks


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) AMMAN, July 15 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's First Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Fahad Yusuf Al-Sabah held talks on Tuesday with Syrian Interior Minister Anas Khattab, focusing on efforts to ratchet up security cooperation.
Bilateral security cooperation includes greater information exchange in a bid to bolster the fight against narcotics and organized crime, said a Kuwaiti interior ministry statement.
The Kuwaiti interior minister, who arrived in the Syrian capital Damascus earlier on Tuesday after concluding an official visit to neighboring Lebanon, also discussed bilateral relations with his Syrian counterpart, agreeing that greater security cooperation bodes well for the region's security and stability, added the statement.
