New Drone Attack On Oilfield In Iraq's Kurdistan Triggers Fire


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) IRBIL, July 15 (KUNA) -- A military drone slammed into Sarsang oilfield in the Kurdistan region on Tuesday starting fire but causing no casualties.
The region's Ministry of Natural Resources said in a statement that the oilfield was hit with the drone, but caused no injuries. For its part, the HKN company that operates the oilfield said the attack happened at 07:00 a.m. (local-time), adding that it caused an explosion and triggered blazes.
The HKN confirmed that the attack inflicted damage indicating that firefighters continued to fight the flames at the targeted site.
On Monday, Khurmala oilfield west of Irbil was targeted with two drones, unleashed from unknown locations. Only damage was reported.
