Starlink Suspends Onboarding New Users in Indonesia
(MENAFN) Starlink announced Monday it has temporarily suspended onboarding new users in Indonesia, citing nationwide capacity limitations.
“Starlink service is currently unavailable for new customers in your area due to sold-out capacity across Indonesia,” the satellite internet provider run by Elon Musk’s SpaceX stated on its website.
In addition to halting new subscriptions, the company is also freezing kit activations for individuals who purchased Starlink hardware through retail outlets or third-party vendors.
Despite the pause, Starlink confirmed that potential users can still secure a place on the waitlist by placing a deposit. Those on the list will be alerted once coverage becomes available again.
“Please note that we cannot provide an estimated timeframe for availability, but our teams are collaborating with local authorities to bring Starlink to Indonesia as soon as possible,” the company added.
This move follows Starlink’s official launch in Indonesia on May 19 of last year, an event marked by Elon Musk’s appearance at the inauguration ceremony in Bali.
