GCC, Ufm Chiefs Seek Closer Coop.


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) RIYADH, July 12 (KUNA) -- GCC Secretary-General Jassem Al-Budaiwi met with Secretary General of the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) Nasser Kamel and discussed bilateral cooperation between both entities.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the Dubrovnik 2025 Forum, hosted by Croatia in the city of Dubrovnik from July 11 to 12, the GCC General Secretariat said in a press release.
They discussed a number of issues of mutual interest, mainly opportunities of cooperation between the GCC and the UfM in several domains, it said.
During the meeting, the GCC chief underlined that the pan-Gulf bloc has always been seeking to promote its relations with regional and international countries and organizations only out of deep belief in the significance of multilateral partnerships to bolstering security, peace and sustainable development.
He also commended the Mediterranean region as a significant partner to the GCC thanks to relations between both sides, which will be further bolstered in the coming period to build a more stable and prosperous stability in a bid to serve the peoples of both sides.
The GCC and the UfM chiefs also exchanged views on the latest regional and international developments. (pickup previous)
