Bee Swarm Invades Indigo Airliner, Delays Flight
Doha: Passengers boarding an ATR-72 IndiGo Flight from Surat to Jaipur, India, found themselves staring at a large bee swarm invading their plane's cargo area, according to a recent article by The Times of India.
The flight 6E-7285 was scheduled to depart for Jainpur at 4:20pm local time, but was delayed by nearly an hour after thousands of bees surrounded the aircraft's baggage door.
The airline staff noticed the bees when loading the luggage and hence tried to repel them using smoke, but when that didn't work, they used pressurized water from a fire tender.
The bees eventually were repelled, and the flight took off.
Many passengers were already onboard the aircraft, with some using their phones to capture the incident.
No damage was reported and harm done to the passengers, as flight continued its normal flight path and landed safely.
