Iran’s internet connection is sable again after ceasefire

(MENAFN) Iran’s internet connectivity has been fully restored to the levels seen before the recent conflict with Israel, the country’s Minister of Information and Communications Technology announced on Wednesday.

Sattar Hashemi shared the update on the social media platform X, one day after a ceasefire was reached between Iran and Israel, ending a 12-day period of hostilities.

Internet restrictions were initially imposed following a series of Israeli airstrikes that began on June 13, targeting Iranian nuclear and military facilities. These strikes reportedly resulted in the deaths of senior commanders, nuclear scientists, and numerous civilians, as reported by Iranian authorities.

In addition to physical attacks, pro-Israeli hacking groups claimed responsibility for cyberattacks on Iran’s banking sector during the conflict, causing disruptions in services at several banks.
