Egypt Condemns Settler Violence In West Bank

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) CAIRO, June 28 (KUNA) -- Egypt, on Saturday, strongly condemned the repeated attacks by Israeli occupation settlers against innocent Palestinian civilians in a number of Palestinian cities and villages in the occupied West Bank, the latest of which was the killing and wounding of a number of Palestinians in Kafr Malik village.
The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed in a statement that these systematic attacks against the Palestinian people constitute a flagrant violation of international law and the Geneva Conventions, and undermine all efforts seeking to achieve security, peace and stability.
The statement stressed the need for the international community to take action to put an end to these blatant violations and to bear its responsibility in confronting the ongoing injustice suffered by the Palestinian people under occupation.
It also called for activating accountability and working to protect the Palestinian people from settler crimes.
Egypt reiterated its firm position that all occupation settlements in the occupied territories are illegal and represent a major obstacle to reaching a just resolution for the Palestinian issue.
