Iran's Parliament Agrees To Suspend Tehran's Cooperation With IAEA

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) TEHRAN, June 25 (KUNA) -- Iran's Islamic Consultative Assembly (parliament) approved a bill on Wednesday urging the government to suspend cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
"The Atomic Energy Organization of Iran will suspend its cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency until the security of Iran's nuclear facilities is guaranteed," Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf said in a speech delivered during a public session.
Qalibaf stressed that the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran "will continue its peaceful nuclear activities at a faster pace," adding that "the enemy has failed to achieve its goals of halting uranium enrichment activities and the missile program."
The Iranian parliament speaker strongly criticized the IAEA, saying it did not even superficially condemn the attack on Iran's nuclear facilities.
The Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan nuclear facilities were subjected to airstrikes by the United States last Sunday morning after being targeted several times by the Israeli occupation. (end)
