Trump Credits B-2 Bombers for Iran, Israel Ceasefire
(MENAFN) U.S. Leader Donald Trump commended the crucial contribution of B 2 stealth bomber pilots in what he called a decisive military effort that paved the way for a ceasefire between Israel and Iran. He emphasized their skill and bravery as instrumental to the outcome.
Trump wrote on Truth Social, “We couldn’t have made today’s ‘deal’ without the talent and courage of our great B 2 pilots, and all of those associated with that operation.”
He highlighted their efforts as indispensable to the ceasefire achievement.
He added, “In a certain and very ironic way, that perfect ‘hit,’ late in the evening, brought everyone together, and the deal was made!!!” referring to the U.S. strikes on Iranian nuclear sites over the weekend.
According to him, the late-night strike served as a unifying moment that sealed the agreement.
Hostilities escalated when Israel began targeting Iranian nuclear and military installations on June 13, alleging Iran was nearing nuclear weapon capability. Iran, which maintains it has no such arsenal ambitions, retaliated with missile barrages.
In response, the U.S. bombed three major Iranian nuclear sites—Fordo, Natanz, and Isfahan—early Sunday. Trump claimed these strikes “completely and totally obliterated” the targeted facilities.
Later, Iran launched a retaliatory strike against the U.S. Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar on Monday evening, but it resulted in no significant damage or casualties. This blow, followed by diplomatic negotiations, concluded what Trump dubbed “The 12 DAY WAR.”
Trump announced the ceasefire plan, detailing that it would be implemented in stages: Iran would initiate the pause first, followed by Israel 12 hours later, leading to a full cessation of fighting after 24 hours.
