Gaza Bleeds: Israeli Strikes Kill Nearly 56,000 Palestinians

(MENAFN) Media reports that since October 2023, the devastating conflict waged by Israel has claimed the lives of at least 55,998 Palestinians, according to the Health Ministry’s update on Monday.

In the past 24 hours alone, 39 bodies were delivered to hospitals, including 17 individuals seeking aid. Additionally, 371 people sustained injuries, pushing the total number of wounded to 131,559 amid the relentless Israeli offensive.

The ministry further warned, “Many victims are still trapped under the rubble and on the roads as rescuers are unable to reach them.”

Hostilities reignited when the Israeli military resumed its bombardment of the Gaza Strip on March 18, resulting in 5,685 deaths and 19,518 injuries since then. This aggressive action shattered the ceasefire and prisoner exchange deal that had been established in January.

Last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants targeting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, charging them with war crimes and crimes against humanity linked to the Gaza conflict.

Moreover, Israel is currently confronting a genocide case at the International Court of Justice related to its ongoing military campaign in the Gaza enclave.
