Ehsan Center Organizes Cartoon Exhibition To Raise Awareness Of Elderly Rights

Doha, Qatar: The Center for Empowerment and Elderly Care (Ehsan), in collaboration with the National Human Rights Committee (NHRC) and Dolphin Energy, announced the launch of an awareness campaign under the slogan "Their Value is High", marking World Elder Abuse Awareness Day, observed annually on June 15.

Running from June 19 to 21, the exhibition showcases a collection of artworks by a group of prominent Qatari artists. The event aims to shed light on issues affecting the elderly and to promote a culture of respect and appreciation for them through the medium of cartoon art - a powerful visual tool that conveys social and humanitarian messages in a creative and accessible way.

Director of Communication and Media Office at Ehsan, Hadi Al Hajri, emphasized that the exhibition reflects the center's commitment to delivering its social message through innovative approaches. He highlighted the important role of art in raising awareness of humanitarian issues, especially protection of older individuals from all forms of abuse.

Participating artists expressed pride in contributing to the initiative, underscoring the influence of art in shaping public awareness and behavior and in delivering meaningful messages in a direct and impactful manner.

The exhibition forms part of a broader awareness campaign launched by the center under the theme "Their Value is High", which also includes a social media initiative aimed at promoting the value of older individuals in society and empowering them to live with dignity and respect.

The United Nations General Assembly designated World Elder Abuse Awareness Day to underscore the importance of protecting older persons from physical, emotional, and verbal abuse, and to support their active participation in society.
