Amman, June 17 (Petra) -- The Jordan Tourism Board (JTB) has launched a series of promotional events in South Korea as part of its ongoing efforts to attract more visitors from East Asia and position the Kingdom as a leading cultural and religious tourism destination.
The campaign, held in partnership with Emirates Airlines, targeted major South Korean tour operators, influential media outlets, and prominent religious figures. It aimed to strengthen Jordan's presence in one of Asia's fastest-growing outbound tourism markets.
According to a statement issued by the JTB on Tuesday, the promotional activities included direct business meetings with key stakeholders in the Korean travel industry and public engagement through Jordan's pavilion at a major tourism exhibition held in Seoul from June 5 to 8, 2025. The event drew strong international participation and featured both business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-consumer (B2C) components.
JTB Director General Abdulrazzaq Arabiyat described the South Korean market as a strategic priority, citing its growing interest in heritage, cultural, and faith-based tourism. "We are working to build long-term partnerships with leading travel companies and organizations across East Asia," Arabiyat said. "Our goal is to provide the tools and opportunities that position Jordan as a top destination for Korean travelers."
He noted that the promotional campaign reflects the Board's broader strategy of integrating marketing initiatives with logistical partnerships, especially through enhanced collaboration with global carriers such as Emirates Airlines. The airline's extensive route network offers a vital link between Jordan and key Asian markets.
"The success of any tourism promotion depends not only on marketing but also on seamless accessibility," Arabiyat added. "Cooperation with airline partners plays a direct role in increasing visitor arrivals and supporting Jordan's broader economic objectives."
The campaign is part of a comprehensive marketing plan aimed at improving air connectivity, expanding reach into emerging tourism markets, and highlighting Jordan's unique blend of historical, cultural, and religious sites.
The Tourism Board emphasized that its collaboration with Emirates Airlines serves as a model for how commercial partnerships can be leveraged to support national tourism goals. It reaffirmed the importance of the South Korean market in diversifying the Kingdom's tourism base and expanding its global footprint.
