
Academy Of Emergency Nursing To Induct Five Fellows
New class recognized for expertise in rural health care, research, advocacy and patient assessment
SCHAUMBURG, Ill., June 11, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- The Emergency Nurses Association and Academy of Emergency Nursing today announced the 2025 class of fellows, five nurses who have made sustained and enduring contributions to the specialty of emergency nursing.
"These fellows are recognized for work that made an impact beyond their practice locations," said AEN Board Chair Deena Brecher, MSN, RN, ACNS-BC, CEN, CPEN, FAEN. "Their work reflects dedication to excellence and to the specialty through their innovation, research, education and advocacy."
The 2025 Class of Academy of Emergency Nursing Fellows:
Anna Mae Ericksen , RN, (posthumous) of Washington
Linda Laskowski Jones , MS, APRN, CEN, ACNS-BC, NEA-BC, NREMT, FAAN, of Delaware
Dawn Peta , BN, RN, of Canada
Jamla Rizek , MSN, MBA, RN, CEN, CPEN, NHDP-BC, NRP, of Maryland
Tania D. Strout , PhD, MS, RN, of Maine
"The impacts these nurses have made touched on setting a global triage standard; developing pain, mental health and other assessment tools; disaster preparedness; legislative changes; rural health care and so much more," said ENA President Ryan Oglesby, PhD, MHA, RN, CEN, CFRN, NEA-BC.
The Emergency Nurses Association established the Academy of Emergency Nursing in 2004. Since then, the Academy has inducted more than 200 emergency nurses whose experience goes above and beyond being an outstanding nurse and devoted ENA member.
The new fellows will be celebrated during a formal induction dinner during Emergency Nursing 2025 in New Orleans this September.
