Availability Rate Of National Electricity Transmission Grid At 99.92% Last Year: Report

Amman, June 3 (Petra) - Availability rate of the national transmission grid reached 99.92% last year, while the percentage of electric losses on transmission networks went down from 1.81% to 1.76%, National Electric Power Company (NEPCO) announced.
According to the company's recently issued annual report, the outage rate per 100 km/circuit dropped by 28.6%, while the grid's transit energy surged from 123 to 215 gigawatt-hours, marking a 74.8% increase.
The capacity of the main 132/33 kV substations also surged by 2.6%, while its rate for 400/132/33 kV substations remained "stable," the report revealed.
The report indicated that maximum load of the Kingdom's electrical system last year reached 4,100 megawatts (MVA), compared to 4,240 MVA in 2023, constituting a decrease of 3.3%.
Additionally, the generation capacity of the Kingdom's electrical system (conventional energy) reached 4,443 MVA and renewable energy stood at 1,617 MVA.
