Vietnam, France Unveil Advanced Earth Observation Satellite Deal

(MENAFN) Vietnam and France have formalized a collaborative agreement to co-develop a cutting-edge Earth observation satellite, according to a local media outlet on Monday. The declaration of intent was inked during French President Emmanuel Macron’s official visit to Hanoi, marking a significant step forward in bilateral space cooperation.

The partnership brings together Vietnam’s Academy of Science and Technology, France’s Centre National d’Études Spatiales (CNES), and aerospace giant Airbus Defence & Space, as reported by the state-run media. This multi-institutional alliance underscores both nations' commitment to advancing space technology.

The project’s core objectives include enhancing satellite capabilities, building technical expertise through comprehensive personnel training, and leveraging remote sensing technologies to promote sustainable development goals. This joint initiative aims to boost Vietnam’s space infrastructure while contributing to environmental monitoring and resource management.
