Amman, April 7 (Petra) – Interior Minister Mazen Farraya on Monday visited the King Hussein Bridge crossing, the sole gateway for Palestinians in the West Bank to access Jordan and, from there, travel to other destinations around the world.
The crossing sees significant two-way traffic, handling nearly two million passengers annually. Security and customs authorities have been exerting exceptional efforts to facilitate passenger movement and ensure the smooth flow of goods.
In remarks posted on X, Farraya said the government is implementing a comprehensive plan to upgrade the crossing's infrastructure. The plan includes road network improvements, expanding cargo areas, constructing designated public transport parking, and relocating the duty-free market to a more suitable location.
He added that arrival and departure lounges have already been improved and that the coming weeks will see new measures aimed at enhancing the work environment and improving baggage handling operations within the terminal.
