Art Of Problem Solving Adds Ben Kornell As CEO And Andrew Sutherland As Chief Product Officer Current CEO Richard Rusczyk Joins Board

(MENAFN- PR Newswire) Kornell joins AoPS as incoming CEO after leading the Common Sense Media Growth Fund and previously serving as CEO of AltSchool. His time as an AoPS parent and as a school board member were foundational in his decision to join the company. "So often schools are focused on raising the floor for struggling students, which is understandable given COVID learning loss. AoPS is focused on raising the academic ceiling for high-potential students. I've personally experienced the life-changing impact of AoPS with my own son, and so I'm thrilled to lead AoPS in challenging and inspiring learners across the country!"

As the new Chief Product Officer, Sutherland brings decades of experience as founder of Quizlet, the world's largest study assistant with over 60M monthly active users. Sutherland was drawn to AoPS because of the quality of the curriculum and its impact on students. "AoPS is a truly world-class program with Beast Academy for younger students and AoPS advanced math for older students. I am so excited to expand AoPS's reach through physical Academies and our digital products, as well as broadening our curricular offerings to include things like advanced computer science that just aren't offered in schools."

Rusczyk founded Art of Problem Solving in 2003 to help advanced students re-orient away from memorizing math facts towards problem solving approaches that are critical in winning math competitions and succeeding in college and careers. His initial textbooks have grown into a company that reaches over half a million students annually through a variety of delivery mechanisms and has been a core part of the United States' surging success in elite math competitions like the International Math Olympiad.

"I'm thrilled to add Ben and Andrew into the AoPS family. Their personal missions and professional experiences are incredibly aligned with where we are headed as a company - to unlock the potential for the next generation of frontier intellectuals. It has been an amazing 20+ years on this journey, and I am excited to support the next 20+ years of AoPS as a member of the board," said Rusczyk.

Rusczyk joins a newly constituted board chaired by Josh Taylor of Carina, and at large board members Ahmed Khaishgi, CEO of AutoComplete, and Dushyant Saraph, COO and CPO at the Match Group. Khaishgi and Saraph were selected through a national search that included AoPS families and supporters.
