
Winners Of Sheikh Jassim Noble Qur'an Competition Honoured
DOHA: The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs yesterday honoured the young children claiming the 30th Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammed bin Thani Noble Qur'an Competition.
A total of 604 Qataris (males and females) and 1,482 residents (males and females) received financial prizes and certificates in a ceremony held at the Imam Muhammad bin Abdul Wahhab Mosque.
More than 3,000 children competed in the competition's Young Children category, making this year's edition the most competitive ever.
Under this branch's rules, citizens aged 12 or below and residents aged eight or below participate in one of the last five Juz' of the Noble Qur'an.
Deputy Chairman of the Organizing Committee Jassim Abdullah Al Ali emphasised Awqaf's keenness to honour and celebrate the people of the Quran, to encourage them to continue to follow and progress the memorisation and recitation of the Book of God.
