Arab Human Rights Cmte Calls On World To Shoulder Responsibilities Toward Gaza
(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA))
CAIRO, March 16 (KUNA) -- The Arab Committee for Human Rights Charter on Sunday appealed to the international community to shoulder its responsibilities toward the humanitarian crisis in Gaza Strip and other regions witnessing grave human rights breaches.
The Arab League-affiliated commission, in a statement marking the Arab Human Rights Day, celebrated under the theme "the right for food," called for immediate action to stop the violations and deliver humanitarian aid to the afflicted, instantly.
The tragic humanitarian situation in Gaza cannot be ignored, it said, calling for Arab and international efforts to secure basic rights for the Gazans -- including their right to have food.
The charter had been endorsed by 18 Arab states out of the 22 members of the Arab League.
