Mass grave of security officers is discovered in Syria
(MENAFN) A mass graveyard with the corpses of security as well as police officers was uncovered close to the city of Qardaha in northwestern Syria, as reported by a state news agency on Sunday.
“A horrific massacre was carried out by remnants of the fallen regime against the police and security forces in the city of Qardaha,” the news agency has stated.
The news agency, quoting a security resource in Latakia district, stated that the mass graveyard was discovered in the vicinity of Qardaha, without providing further information about the time the murdering occurred.
Previously on Sunday, Syria’s Defense Ministry declared the initiating of the second stage of a military activity intended for chasing the remaining ousted Assad supporters in both country and mountainous places, after the recovery of security in coastal areas.
Nowadays, the coastal districts of Latakia along with Tartus have witnessed increased security conflicts in the middle of collaborative strikes by loyalists of the deposed president. Those strikes, referred to as the most intense since the president’s collapse in December, have aimed for security patrols, checkpoints, as well as hospitals, which caused losing many victims as well as wounded people.
