Arab Parliament Marks Int'l Woman Day Hailing Arab Women

CAIRO, March 8 (KUNA) -- President of the Arab Parliament Mohammad Al-Yamahi has affirmed the parliament's full support for the Arab initiatives aimed at attaining women empowerment at various levels.
Al-Yamahi, in a statement marking the International Women's Day, greeted the Arab women as main partners in development and progress of the nation.
The Arab Parliament places support for woman on top of its priorities, he said, praising the Arab women's contributions at the Arab, regional and international levels.
He greeted in particular the Palestinian woman for her great sacrifices, steadfastness amid the massacres and wars of genocide carried out by the flagrant occupation entity in the occupied territories.
Most of the victims in the genocide on Gaza that proceeded for more than a year and three months were women and children, he pointed out.
The Palestinian woman will remain an icon for struggle, steadfastness and heroism until the Palestinian people attain their legitimate rights, he added. (end)
