EGESA Will Build A New 5 MW Solar Plant To Strengthen Panama's Energy Matrix
This expansion project will also reduce dependence on non-renewable energy sources and bring Panama closer to greater self-sufficiency in energy production, and the new solar plant is expected to strengthen the commitment to sustainability, as the country works on its transition to a greener energy future.
Currently, EGESA operates the Sarigua Solar Plant, which with an installed capacity of 2.4 MW supplies 30% of the electricity consumption of the Parita District, benefiting more than 7,000 people. The incorporation of the new 5 MW plant will significantly increase the production of clean energy, consolidating Panama's position as a leader in the use of renewable energy in the region.
