OHCHR Concerned By Images Of Palestinians Released In First Phase Of Gaza Ceasefire

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) GENEVA, Feb 10(KUNA) -- The Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) on Monday expressed grave concern over the images of Palestinian detainees released as part of the first phase of the Gaza ceasefire agreement describing them as "deeply disturbing."
In a statement issued from Geneva UN Human Rights Spokesperson Thameen Al-Kheetan stressed that "the manner of their release also raises serious concerns," adding that Palestinians released from Israeli occupations detention have shown signs of ill-treatment and severe malnourishment reflecting the severe conditions under which they have been held.
She called on the Israeli occupation authorities to immediately and unconditionally release all arbitrarily detained Palestinians. (end)
