Kuwait Participates In World Governments Summit 2025 In Dubai

DUBAI, Feb 10 (KUNA) -- Kuwait, represented by His Highness the Prime Minister sheikh Ahmad Al-Abdullah Al-Sabah with an accompanying delegation, is participating in the 12th edition of the World governments Summit 2025 (WGS), which kicks off Tuesday in Dubai, under the slogan "Shaping Future Governments".
This summit, which will continue until Thursday, is considered one of the most influential international gatherings, bringing together leaders and global experts from around the world, and represents an opportunity to intensify efforts and enhance cooperation in facing global challenges.
The Prime Minister came at the invitation of UAE's Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammad bin Rashid Al-Maktoum.
The Kuwaiti delegation accompanying the Prime Minister included Foreign Minister Abdullah Al-Yahya, Finance Minister and State Minister for Economic and Investment Affairs Noura Al-Fassam, and Civil Service Commission Chairman Dr. Essam Al-Rubaian.
Cabinet Minister and Chairman of WGS Foundation, Mohammad Abdullah Al-Gergawi said in a statement that the summit, under the directives of UAE President Sheikh Mohammad bin Zayed Al-Nahyan and his Vice President Sheikh Mohammad bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, has become a leading platform since its launch in 2013.
This year's summit attracts more than 4,000 senior leaders and government officials, more than 30 heads of state, and more than 400 ministers attending, with the participation of 27 international organizations.
In a statement to KUNA, Head of the Media and Creative Industries Department at the United Arab Emirates University, Dr. Ahmad Al-Mansoori stated that WGS provides constructive dialogue and an exchange of experiences between countries, and raises vital topics such as artificial intelligence (AI), sustainability, public health and future education that reflect the challenges and opportunities facing the world today.
For his part, editor-in-chief of Emirati newspaper "AlAin", Ahmad Al-Alawi, told KUNA that the essence of WGS lies in its ability to redefine the concept of international partnership, not only between governments but also between the public, the summit creates a compass for governments to keep pace with global transformations.
WGS 2025 will focus on innovation and technology as key drivers of change, it will also include AI and technological innovation and their impact on public and private sectors, climate change, sustainability, future of work and education, cybersecurity, and digital transformations, in addition to global health and modern medical technologies to improve healthcare systems.
