Nawaf Salam Leads Lebanon's New Cabinet

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) BEIRUT, Feb 8 (KUNA) -- Lebanese President Gen. Joseph Aoun has signed on Saturday a decree endorsing a 24-member cabinet led by Prime Minister Nawaf Salam.
Earlier today he accepted the resignation of outgoing prime minister Najib Mikati's government, according to the National News Agency.
The new cabinet, announced Secretary General of the Council of Ministers Mahmoud Makiya, is made up of the following;
Deputy Prime Minister Tarek Mitri,
Minister of Defense Michel Mnassah,
Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants Youssef Rajji,
Minister of Tele-Communications Charles Hajj,
Minister of Energy and Water Joseph Saddi,
Minister of Interior Ahmed Al-Hajjar,
Minister of Justice Adel Nassar,
Minister of Finance Yassin Jaber,
Minister of Public Health Rakan Nassereddine,
Minister of Culture Ghassan Salemeh,
Minister of Industry Joe Issa Al-Khoury,
Minister of Economy and Trade Amer Al-Bsat,
Minister of Agriculture Nizar Hani,
Minister of Information Paul Morcos,
Minister of Social Affairs Hanin Al-Sayed,
Minister of Public Works and Transport Fayez Rasamny,
Minister of Displacement (Minister of State for Technology Affairs) Kamal Shehadeh,
Minister of Labor Mohamad Haider,
Minister of Youth and Sports Nora Bayrakdarian,

Outlining the priorities of his government, Salam said it would seek "to restore confidence between citizens and the state, between Lebanon and its Arab surroundings, and between Lebanon and the international community."
"The government will have to work with the Parliament Council to complete the implementation of the Taif Agreement and proceed with financial and economic reforms," NNA quoted him as saying. (end)
