Egypt and Palestine Stress Importance of Recovery and Support for Gaza

(MENAFN) Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and Palestinian Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammed Mustafa underscored the critical need for the ongoing implementation of early recovery initiatives and rubble removal projects in Gaza. They also emphasized the importance of increasing humanitarian aid to the region without requiring Palestinians to leave, as long as they remain on their land.

The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement noting that Abdelatty reaffirmed Egypt's full backing for the Palestinian government and its plans for reform. He highlighted the need to Politically and economically empower the Palestinian Authority to carry out its responsibilities in Gaza, which is considered an integral part of the occupied Palestinian territories.

Abdelatty also reiterated Egypt's commitment to the “legitimate and unalienable rights of the Palestinian people,” stressing the necessity of achieving a “durable and just political solution for the Palestinian cause” through the two-state solution, leading to the creation of an independent Palestinian state based on the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
