Arab League: Accelerating Urgent Relief Aid In Gaza Will Block Occupation's Displacement Plans

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) CAIRO, Feb 6 (KUNA) - The Arab League Secretary-General, Ahmad Aboul Gheit, confirmed Thursday, that consolidating the ceasefire and accelerating urgent relief aid in Gaza will block the Israeli occupation's plans to displace the people of the Strip.
This came during a meeting held by Aboul Gheit with the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Palestine, Dr. Mohammad Mustafa, said Jamal Rushdi, spokesman for the Secretary-General of the League in a statement.
Rushdi quoted the Secretary-General as stressing that the current stage requires helping the Palestinian people in Gaza to restore normal life and begin reconstruction in order to thwart the Israeli occupation's plans to empty the Strip of its people.
The meeting between Abu al-Gheit and Mustafa addressed the Palestinian situation, especially the scenario of displacement, which is rejected by Arabs and the international community, he added. (end)
