Registration For Saluki Racing Championship Of Al Gannas Association To Start On Saturday

Doha: The Qatari Saluki Racing Association has announced the opening of registration for participation in the 15th International Saluki Racing Championship of the Al Gannas Association (2025) from Saturday, February 8, between 4 and 8pm, at the association's Building 33 at the Katara Cultural Village (Katara).

The organising committee of the 15th International Saluki Racing Championship of the Al Gannas Association explained that the championship is open to everyone from within Qatar and to brothers from the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.

The organising committee indicated that registration for the championship is by bringing (the Saluki) and revealing its chip, indicating that no changes have been made to the championship as the race distance is estimated at two kilometres calculated by (“GPS”).

After limiting the number of registrants in the championship and distributing them into groups, the championship will start with the qualifiers on February 15, while the final competition will be held on the 22nd of the same month at Sabkhat Marmi in Sealine.

The Saluki races organised by the Qatari Al Gannas Association enjoy a large following from fans of this type of heritage races throughout the year, especially at the Qatar International Falconry and Hunting Festival (Marmi).

All interested and enthusiasts of this type of sports and Saluki owners were invited to come and register, as well as to fans of excitement and suspense from the audience to attend and enjoy the atmosphere of the competitive championship.
