Umerov, NATO Military Committee Chairman Identify Priorities Of Military Assistance For Ukraine


(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umerov and Chairman of the NATO Military Committee, Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone have analyzed the dynamics of military assistance for Ukraine and identified key priorities.

Umerov said this in a post on facebook , Ukrinform reports.

Umerov noted that Dragone's first official foreign trip in his new position is to Ukraine, which is a clear signal of support and recognition of Ukraine's key role in Euro-Atlantic security.

The Ukrainian Defense Minister thanked the Allies for their comprehensive assistance and emphasized the importance of continuing effective cooperation. For his part, Admiral Dragone assured that NATO remains committed to supporting Ukraine and will work even faster to strengthen Ukraine's defense capabilities.

Together with Lieutenant General Kyrylo Budanov, the Ukrainian side briefed the delegation on the current battlefield situation, the enemy's plans and potential, and emphasized that Ukraine critically needs the supply of modern equipment and weaponry to strengthen its brigades.

The parties analyzed the dynamics of military assistance and identified key priorities, including financing Ukraine's defense industry, localizing the production and maintenance of weaponry in Ukraine, and accelerating the delivery of weapons to the front line.

“The Ukrainian defense industry can become an important element of the European and Euro-Atlantic security system. Together with our partners, we are increasing production capacity to provide the Ukrainian army with everything it needs and strengthen the defense capabilities of the free world,” Umerov stressed and thanked the allies for their support.

As reported, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and the NATO Military Committee Chairman, Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone visited a defense industry enterprise to review the capacities and characteristics of Ukrainian long-range weapons.
