Shura Council Takes Part In Meeting Of Committee To Amend APU Charter

Cairo: The Shura Council participated yesterday in the meeting of the Special Committee to Amend the Charter of the Arab Parliamentary Union (APU), which was held in Cairo.
The Council was represented in the meeting by H E Dr. Sultan bin Hassan Al Dosari, member of the Shura Council and member of the APU Executive Committee.
During the meeting, participants discussed amending the APU charter, as well as the establishment of a permanent headquarters. The committee decided to prepare a report outlining its views on both issues, which will be circulated to Arab councils and parliaments for their input.
During its 36th session, the APU Executive Committee recommended forming a special committee to handle the charter amendment and the selection of a permanent headquarters for the Union.
