Malaysia, Uzbekistan Affirm Support For Just Solution To Palestinian Cause

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 5 (KUNA) -- Malaysia and Uzbekistan on Wednesday affirmed their support for a just and lasting solution to the Palestinian issue and the need to enhance stability in Afghanistan following talks between Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev during the latter's visit to Malaysia.
A joint statement issued by the two countries indicated that the two leaders stressed that international challenges, including the Palestinian issue, must be resolved through peaceful means, emphasizing the need to ensure unhindered access of humanitarian aid to the Palestinian territories.
The statement said that they renewed their support for finding a comprehensive and just solution to the Palestinian issue in accordance with international law and relevant United Nations resolutions, in order to achieve peace and stability in the region.
The two leaders also stressed the importance of not isolating Afghanistan and the need to continue providing humanitarian assistance to support the Afghan people, in addition to enhancing capacity building and training to help the country overcome its current challenges. (end)
