Egyptian Foreign Minister Urges US to Strengthen Gaza Ceasefire and Humanitarian Aid Efforts


(MENAFN) Badr Abdelatty, the Egyptian Foreign Minister, emphasized through a phone call with US Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff the significance of upholding and strengthening the ceasefire agreement in Gaza.

He also highlighted the necessity of facilitating the delivery of a larger volume of humanitarian and relief aid at a faster and more intensive rate to address the urgent needs of Gaza’s population, considering the severe humanitarian crisis.

During the conversation, both sides discussed the latest developments regarding the implementation of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza and stressed the need for the full execution of its three phases.

The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs released a statement today noting that Abdelatty reviewed the ongoing coordination and discussions between Egypt and the new US administration, referring to the phone call that took place between the presidents of both countries on the 1st of February.
