IUST Shines In All India Inter-University Winter Sports
(MENAFN- Kashmir Observer) AWANTIPORA: The Islamic University of Science & technology bagged the winner's trophy in the All India Inter-University Winter Sports Championship in Snow Skiing. IUST also clinched the runner-up trophy in the boys' category and achieved an impressive third-place finish in Ice Stock, marking a significant milestone in its sports journey.

The felicitation ceremony was attended by Satish Sharma, Sports Minister of J&K, as the Chief Guest, along with Guests of Honour, including Farooq Ahmad Shah (MLA, Gulmarg), Prof. Shakil Ahmed Romshoo (Vice Chancellor, IUST), Prof. Nilofer Khan (Vice Chancellor, KU) and Prof. Prof Ravinder Nath (Vice Chancellor, CUK).

Prof. Shakil Ahmed Romshoo emphasized that this victory reflects IUST's dedication to promoting athletics and nurturing young talent, further strengthening Kashmir's reputation as a premier destination for winter sports.
Dr. Hilal Ahmad Rather, Assistant Director Physical Education and Sports at IUST, expressed immense pride in the athletes' dedication and resilience and reiterated IUST's commitment to fostering sports excellence and encouraging students to compete at national and international levels.

CUK's All India Inter-University Winter Games Begin
IUST's athletes delivered outstanding performances in various categories.
In Ice Stock, the men's team, consisting of Abdul Moiz Qadari, Abdul Qadeer Khanday, Mohd Taif Khanday and Mohd Azim, won gold, while Toyebah Tariq secured a silver medal in the women's category. In Snow Skiing, Sadiya Ayjaz dominated the women's category, winning two gold medals.
Ryaan Hassan Khan secured a silver medal in Slalom, while Haadi Hassan Khan and Jamid Yaqoob won bronze medals in Slalom and G-Slalom, respectively.
