SAN FRANCISCO - Weber Shandwick has bolstered its North America technology practice with two senior appointments in keeping with the firm's ongoing expansion in tech communications.
Melissa Brown, a seasoned Weber Shandwick leader, has been named executive VP, head of New York tech. Meanwhile, Caitlin Stewart, formerly of Edelman, joins as senior VP, head of San Francisco tech and North America growth lead for tech. Both positions are newly created.
“The challenges facing technology companies in this ecosystem are multifaceted and significant, as reputational challenges continue to surface and the industry grapples with the seismic transformation wrought by AI,” said Jordan Rittenberry, president of Weber Shandwick West and North America tech lead.“Caitlin and Melissa are the right leaders for this moment, capable of bringing specialized expertise from our broader network alongside bespoke counsel for our clients' most pressing needs.”
Stewart's role will see her reporting to Rittenberry, leveraging her decade-long experience at Edelman, where she specialized in enterprise technology communications and served as senior VP in the technology practice. Brown, who has been with Weber Shandwick since 2018 and held leadership roles at Hotwire, 5W, and GreenRoom, will report jointly to Jamie Dowd, president of Weber Shandwick New York, and Rittenberry.
The appointments come as Weber Shandwick's Technology practice experiences rapid growth, with double-digit revenue increases in the sector and North America revenue growth in 2024 more than doubling 2023's figures, Weber Shandwick said in announcing the appointments.
“We're building on a strong foundation of growth,” added Rittenberry.“These new roles reflect our commitment to staying ahead of client needs in a dynamic tech ecosystem.”
