The federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has implemented a 10% withholding tax on wedding hall bookings, with the tax to be collected from the customer rather than the hall owners.
This decision was finalized during a meeting between FBR officials and the Wedding Hall Association in Karachi. Both parties agreed that the tax would apply to all wedding events.
Rana Raees, President of the Wedding Hall Association, clarified that the withholding tax would be charged to those booking events at wedding halls.

He emphasized:
"This tax has no financial implications for the wedding hall owners. We urge citizens hosting weddings to comply with FBR's policy regarding withholding tax."
The new policy aims to streamline tax collection while reducing the burden on hall owners.
