Turkey shares its desire to end genocide in Gaza, create cease-fire

(MENAFN) Turkish Leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Wednesday conveyed his nation’s desire to support every way to end the current genocide in Gaza, and create a permanent cease-fire.

Israel has murdered over 43,000 people in Gaza since the October 7, 2023 Hamas strikes.

In his speech at Turkey’s AK Party's parliamentary group meeting, Erdogan also addressed the cease-fire deal among Israel and Lebanon that came into effect this morning.

"We expect all parties, especially Israel, to fully fulfill their responsibilities in maintaining calm on the ground," he stated.

The cease-fire among Israel and Lebanon, brokered with US as well as French diplomatic efforts, came into effect at 4 a.m. local time (0200GMT).

Hezbollah started a collection of ballistic missile, rocket as well as drone strikes on Israel in the previous month to prove solidarity with the people of Gaza and force Israel for a cease-fire in the besieged coastal reserve.

As cross-border warfare remained, Israel launched huge attacks over the small Mediterranean nation against what it stated were Hezbollah goals in late September. A ground attack was launched on October 1.
