BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 10. The Liberation
Front of French Colonies has issued a statement addressing the
French Foreign Ministry's declaration regarding a travel warning to
Azerbaijan, Trend reports.
"Although the French Prime Minister has not yet formed his
government, the actions of the outgoing Minister of the Interior
and the alarming warnings from the French Foreign Ministry
regarding Azerbaijan do not surprise anyone.
The next step by the government will undoubtedly be a complete
ban on 'French citizens' visiting the mentioned country. This
decision contradicts 'human rights' and the 'free movement of
people and goods' and will be entirely illegal. The actions of the
French state have only one goal: to prevent the Baku Initiative
Group from continuing to carry out the mandate given to it by the
Non-Aligned Movement under the United Nations framework. The
mission of the Baku Initiative Group is to put an end to
colonialism in the world.
France fully understands that its international image is
deteriorating - the root cause being the Baku Initiative Group's
efforts to inform the international community about how the
territories of the organization's member countries have been
occupied by the 'country of human rights' (France) and how it has
acted, and continues to act, against indigenous peoples. The Kanak
people's current situation (New Caledonia) is a vivid example of
this.
The organizations of the Liberation Front in France's last
enslaved colonies oppose these methods of a country in political
decline, which does not hesitate to resort to the crudest and most
undemocratic tactics to maintain its colonies. The goal here is to
retain its position among the great naval powers, while
safeguarding interests that allow it to continue its existence.
We'll continue to work with the Baku Initiative Group within the
framework defined by the UN, or with any other partner we deem
necessary to finally gain independence and protect the interests of
our peoples!" the statement said.
The statement was signed by 14 leaders of political movements in
territories under French control.
To recall, this July, leaders of political parties and movements
fighting for the independence of French colonies held their first
congress in Baku and established the Liberation Front of French
Colonies.
Officials from 17 colonies of France and the Netherlands signed
the final declaration on the establishment of the Liberation Front
and approved its charter.
