Kuwait Health Minister Praises Emergency Personnel For Saving Lives


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, July 29 (KUNA) -- Minister of health Dr. Ahmad Al-Awadhi has affirmed that the medical emergency department has contributed to securing various occasions and activities and saving lives round the clock.
The minister, in a statement after a visit to the department on Monday, lauded the continuous efforts of the division, in harmony with the ministry's strategy and the government task plan.
He revealed that the emergency department received 61,000 contacts for urgent aid, according to the 2024 bi-annual report. The personnel dealt with 86,000 cases, scrambled to aid victims in 5,400 road accidents, and transferred 73,000 cases, in addition to 530 others who were taken to hospitals by air. Moreover, they had conducted 296 first-aid operations.
Furthermore, the department covered and secured 5,400 activities, conducted 24,000 diabetes examinations, carried out 405 catheterization operations, 23 training activities and campaigns during the year's half. (end)
