Somali Government Ready To Cooperate With Azerbaijan To Achieve COP29 Goals - FM

The Somali government is ready to cooperate with Azerbaijan to achieve COP29 goals, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the federal Republic of Somalia Ahmed Moalim Fiqi said at a joint press conference with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, Trend reports.

“My visit coincided with the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. I am confident that these relationships will contribute to deepening our cooperation. Over the years, our ties have been developing on an upward trajectory. Today we discussed opportunities to expand trade and cooperation in the oil and gas and agricultural sectors. We are ready to take all steps to expand our ties. I would also like to congratulate Azerbaijan on its chairmanship at COP29. Our government is ready to cooperate with Azerbaijan to achieve the goals of this conference. The Azerbaijani government has a rich experience working to achieve zero emission goals,” he emphasized.

Furthermore, the Minister expressed his deep gratitude to the government and people of Azerbaijan for the warm welcome extended to him.

“Over the years, we have benefited from common views by cooperating in various projects, including education and diplomacy,” he added.
