Trump contributes thousands to both Harris, Biden campaigns

(MENAFN) Recent revelations have surfaced showing that former President Donald trump previously donated to the campaign of Kamala Harris, his current potential rival. Records from the California Secretary of State's office reveal that Trump's organization contributed USD5,000 to Harris’s reelection campaign as Attorney General in 2011, followed by an additional USD1,000 in 2013. Additionally, Trump’s daughter, Ivanka Trump, donated USD2,000 to Harris in 2014. This information came to light on social media, particularly after President Joe Biden’s withdrawal from the upcoming November elections and his endorsement of Harris as his successor. Harris has since expressed confidence in securing the Democratic nomination for the presidency.

During his 2016 campaign, Trump openly acknowledged making contributions to both Democrats and Republicans, including his then-opponent Hillary Clinton. He asserted that his financial contributions were a strategic move, saying that he could effectively influence politicians through his donations. Trump’s comments at the time underscored his belief in the transactional nature of political contributions, with him stating, "These politicians, they’re so bad. I’ve got to give it to them because when I want something, I get it. When I call, they kiss my a**." Trump further elaborated that he had donated to many of his competitors, including Hillary Clinton, emphasizing his extensive involvement in both parties.
