Jordan Hosts AUFZ Meeting To Support Arab Free Zones

Amman, July 18 (Petra) - Jordan Free Zones Investors Commission (JFZIC) hosted a meeting of the Board of Directors of the Arab Union of Free Zones (AUFZ).
According to a JFZIC statement Thursday, the meeting discussed the request submitted by the Supreme Committee for Investors in Syria and decided to open a regional office for the AUFZ in Syria.
The statement added that AUFZ plans to address the Arab League to grant free zones the privilige of benefiting from the exemption for local factories.
Speaking the event, AUFZ Chairman, Saker Ajlouni, stressed the "vital" role of free zones in promoting investment and attracting companies.
The meeting, he noted, was an opportunity to discuss the "important" challenges facing the union and members, with a focus on improving the investment environment and developing services provided to investors.
Meanwhile, JFZIC Vice Chairman, Sharaf Dein Rifai, stressed the importance of cooperation with the AUFZ to achieve common goals in promoting investments and achieving sustainable economic development.
Rifai added that JFZIC seeks to provide an "attractive" investment environment for investors and improve services provided to them.
Closing the discussions, the attendees recommended the two bodies' continued joint action and coordination to achieve the "best" results and "optimally" support investors in the Arab free zones.
