Ukraine Returns 758 Children From Russia And Occupied Territories Commissioner
Verkhovna Rada Human Rights Commissioner Dmytro Lubinets said this during a working trip to the Ternopil region, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.
"This is a small number compared to an estimated 20,000 Ukrainian children whom we managed to record as of now. These are children whom the Russian Federation deported, actually kidnapped since 2014, as well as children who were forcibly transferred by the Russians within the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine," Lubinets said.
According to him, upon return, each child is sent to the specially created Center for the Protection of Children's Rights where, together with experts from the International Criminal Court, surveys are conducted and crimes committed by Russians against Ukrainian children are recorded.
