Donald Trump Injured At A Pennsylvania Rally - Bullet Or Glass Wound To The Ear
after a shooting at his campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.
The incident
took place moments after he took the stage at the rally. After loud bangs were heard, Trump fell to the ground and was covered by Secret Service agents. He was stood back up by security personnel and had blood on his ear and face. He was yelling back to the crowd, fist in the air, and then was whisked away from the scene by security personnel.
The Secret Service said in a statement that Trump was safe
and being evaluated.
Donald Trump Jr. revealed that his father, former President Trump, is in the hospital but is in "great spirits."
Trump said in a Truth Social statement
that he was hit by a bullet in the upper part of his right ear. Trump said to reporters "I was shot with a bullet that went through the top of my right ear. I knew immediately something was wrong because I heard a buzzing sound."
Trump may have been struck by pieces of glass instead of a bullet, possibly from a teleprompter that broke due to being shot up by bullets, and glass fragments from that teleprompter may have been what hit the former president.
The Secret Service said the shooter fired multiple shots from an“elevated position” outside of the rally before he was killed by agents. Three law enforcement sources confirmed that the shooter was outside the venue. Two of those sources said the shooter was on a roof.
A male attacker was shot and killed by a member of the Secret Service after the apparent assassination attempt on Trump at the event in Butler, Pennsylvania. The attacker killed one spectator at the rally, and two others are critically injured, according to the Secret Service.
The extraordinary images of a defiant Donald Trump pumping his fist in the air, with blood on his face, being rushed off the stage by the Secret Service are not just history making – they may well alter the course of November's presidential election.
This shocking act of political violence will inevitably have an effect on the campaign. The Republican National Convention opens Monday.
“I fully endorse President Trump and hope for his rapid recovery,” Elon Musk wrote
on X.
