Tourism Minister Reviews Petra's Preparations For Upcoming Season
Chief Commissioner of Petra Development and Tourism Region Authority Fares Breizat accompanied Qaisi on a tour that included visits to several hotels, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
They examined several local investment opportunities for the residents of the Wadi Musa area, which included modern hotel establishments under construction with an additional capacity of 1,400 hotel rooms.
According to a statement from the ministry, even though the tourism sector in Petra has been the hardest hit due to the decline in tourism, particularly from foreign tourists, because of the brutal aggression against our people in Gaza, and although the drop in tourist numbers compared with 2023 has sometimes exceeded 70 per cent, this has not prevented the residents of the region from investing.
